Homeownership

A home can provide a foundation of shelter and a safe space for you and for your children to thrive and prosper. Homeownership is an important slice of the American pie. Owning your home is an important financial investment into community and pride.

But owning your home can improve your net worth. Homeownership helps to build wealth. Those who own have a median net worth of more than 40 times greater than those who rent. Home is not only where your heart is, but where your wealth is.

Homeownership brings upon the benefits of good investments, stable housing cost from year to year, pride in ownership, equity buildup, tax incentives, and the overall ease of being a part of a community.

Build wealth and secure your financial future.

Credit Problems

Homeownership is a journey. Credit problems can make life difficult. A low credit score can hinder you from credit cards, loans , and mortgage applications. In some instances, credit problems can also hinder you from getting an apartment or even a job.

Home and Family Support

For generations, the gap in homeownership of African-American families has widened. Through the Great Recession of 2007-2008, and the displacinsie and the unknowing of this country’s future, through the Covid-19 pandemic, African-American families have fallen into historic lows in homeownership.

The IERC has been tasked with the initiative to get families into a home and to close the gap that has displaced African-American families for so long. With workshops and counseling, and ,of course, faith, the IERC will work closely with families to build on foundations for generations to come. Our overall mission is to improve the quality of life in the Inland Empire through intentional partnerships that help our communities become places where families can live in safety, prosperity, and harmony; places where the American dream of self-sufficiency can grow and flourish.
